Developer focus on absolute beachfront apartments for boomers emerges

LONDON: The trend for developers to build absolute beachfront apartments for boomers is starting to pick up speed. Builder developer McNab has started off-the-plan sales at its latest Gold Coast development, Elements Budds Beach.

The project will feature a boutique collection of 79 luxurious residences and construction is tipped to start in the middle of this year. Two-bedroom apartments are priced from $1.095m, three-bedroom apartments start at $1.755m and sub-penthouses are priced from $3.725m.

McNab managing director Michael McNab said the development was in the Gold Coast’s best-kept secret – a hidden beachside village.

“In the quiet residential enclave of Budds Beach, Elements represents a new chapter in luxurious living for the Gold Coast, seamlessly blending the serenity of a beachside village with elegant architectural design and finishes,” Mr McNab said.

Nestled in an area known as Budds by locals, Mr McNab said Elements offered a rare opportunity to indulge in a lifestyle that promised both tranquillity and proximity to the vibrant heart of Surfers Paradise.

“Budds Beach is such a hidden gem, and an area even many Gold Coast locals haven’t heard of,” he said.

“It’s only a short walk to all the action but feels like a quiet residential suburb away from the hustle and bustle, with its tree-lined streets, protected beach and waterways.”

The award-winning developer and builder has partnered with renowned Cottee Parker Architects, who have designed the project.

Mr McNab said the interiors were a tribute to the coastline, with selections influenced by natural elements, featuring hues that echoed the landscape, veined natural stone, classic timbers, and subtle curves reminiscent of the surrounding environment.

“The living options at Elements are diverse and tailored to various lifestyle needs,” he said.

“The cleverly designed two-bedroom apartments open their kitchens directly to ocean-facing balconies.

“The three-bedroom residences are strategically positioned to offer protected river, ocean and hinterland views, ensuring a panoramic experience of the area’s natural beauty.

“For those seeking an even more exclusive living experience, the penthouses and sub-penthouses are a showcase of luxury and design, featuring downdraft cooktops for uninterrupted views and dual living spaces, each with private balconies.”

Exclusive agent Caitlin Rosenboom, from Ray White Projects Gold Coast, highlighted the unique appeal of Elements.

“We only select a couple of projects a year to represent exclusively for sale, and we have put our full support behind Elements Budds Beach as being our pick of the year for an off-the-plan residential project of 2024,” she said.

“We’re excited about the location, the beautiful design and high levels of amenity. The incredible views make this a stand out development.”

Ms Rosenboom said the success of McNab’s last project, White Main Beach, which was a finalist for best high-rise in Queensland at the 2023 Queensland Urban Development Institute of Australia Awards, and the fact that McNab were both developer and builder gave buyers confidence in the project.

“We’re thrilled with the levels of early inquiry. In fact we have had a number of clients who have bought into McNab’s previously delivered project eager to secure another Gold Coast apartment and have had referrals from them wanting their friends and family to experience living in a McNab residence,” she said.
