Interlopers target boomers with high-end creative apartments

LONDON: Independent developers are targeting boomers with innovative, high-end apartments-for-life.

A new project is being readied for opening.

Multiplex has been appointed as the builder for the luxurious $350 million The Grove Residences in the western suburbs — the most expensive apartment complex in WA history.

Multiplex has already commenced the $173 million building project and is set to finish in 28 months, by Spring 2023.

New details revealed on Friday show the twin tower complex that is set to accommodate Perth’s most expensive penthouse, costing nearly $23 million, has spared little expense.

Amenities including a golf simulator, rooftop cocktails lounges, a co-working space, yoga room, steamroom and sauna will be included in the towers.

The apartments are split across two residential towers, with tower one reaching 12 stories and tower two at 16 floors high, with a separate four-level podium apartment building containing some commercial tenancies.

A separate butler and concierge service will be on-call for residents, as will a wellness centre and a resort-style pool surrounded by Palm Beach-style cabanas.

In a nod to the medical benefits of hot and cold therapy, there will be a plunge pool coolled to 12 degrees and a spa heated to 37 degrees.

The project has taken advantage of the spike in housing demand, with $240 million worth of apartment sales since launching in September 2020, which is about 80 per cent of the project.

Blackburne Founder and Managing Director Paul Blackburne said he is pleased to be partnering with Multiplex for the construction of the project, following a partnership on his One Subiaco project.
