Tradesman says thanks with garden makeover for healthcare worker

MELBOURNE: A random act of kindness has been reported with a healthcare sector worker left surprised with a generous gesture.

Kristen Barnes was blown away by the free garden makeover her mum received from a Sunshine Coast handyman.

Ross Booth and his partner Sharon Robertson volunteered their time to fix Sunshine Coast hospital worker Sandy Sharples’ wobbly stairs and completed a huge clean-up of her yard.

“He posted here (Facebook) a few days back wanting to offer his services, complimentary to somebody who works in the health sector,” Kristen said.

“My mum is a cleaner and wardswoman working closely with patients at the Sunshine Coast Hospital and has been risking her health working hard to keep food on the table.

“Among that she has had a difficult time lately, so when Ross offered his time to help her out I was blown away and so thankful to know that we live in such a kind community.

“Mum got a lovely surprise and was so happy with their amazing work,” Kristen said.

“Thank you Ross and Sharon, you’re absolute gems.
