New hub proposal includes childcare, 24-hour gym, petrol station and medical centre

LONDON: Regeneration community hubs now embrace medical centres, childcare, 24 hour gyms, petrol station and around the clock retail.

Angle Vale could become a major new hub for businesses, families and travellers as five new centres are proposed along a major roadway.

Located just off the Northern Expressway and near Andrews Rd, 30 Bain Rd is the proposed home to a new petrol station, childcare centre, multi-level medical and allied health facility, gym and swim centre, mechanical workshop and fast food restaurant.

The master plan proposal covers more than 12,000sq m and mentions future works for the adjacent lot.

The entire site would be serviced by 160 parking spaces, spread around each of the businesses, with some located under the medical centre’s second floor and accessible by four separate entry points.

The 1330sq m medical facility is set to be the focal point of the development, located centrally and will include mural facades and large expanses of glass.

Inside, the floor plan proposes a pharmacy, physio and studio, dentist, pathology, and GP split over two floors and 18 consulting rooms.

The childcare centre will accommodate 109 children in 800sq m and include six separate activity rooms accompanied by designated sleep room, staff facilities and external play areas.

The 610sq m gym is anticipated to be open 24/7 while the swimming centre portion will open daily.

The petrol station and fast food restaurant will be located closest to the main roadways and according to the proposal are designed to draw interest from the road and future footpath networks.

The 275sq m fast food restaurant will boast an 11 car drive through facility, but no tenant has been proposed yet to fill the site.
